One feature that the G1 Android includes is a full QWERTY keyboard. This makes it great for communicating with friends online through the phone’s IM, email, and text messaging capabilities.
Speaking of email, the Google Phone has a rich HTML email client. It can sync with the user’s calendar, email, and contacts from an IMAP or POP3 email service, such as Gmail. It also gives users free push access for the email.
If you don’t like the stock email app, then you could try the K9 mail. It has better interface and advanced features. Unlike the stock app, the K9 allows signatures for emails. The app also notifies you of new mails when the Google Phone is asleep. Checking for IMAP mail is so much quicker.
If you like to synchronize your Microsoft Outlook with your T-Mobile G1 and vice versa, then you have to use the CompanionLink app. This software lets users sync their contacts, calendar, and tasks easily.
It works like this:
- It first syncs with the user’s Google account, and with the Android as well.
- Any changes you make with the handset are also synchronized with your Google account and PC software.
CompanionLink is so useful, that many of users wish it was bundled with T-Mobile’s G1 Android. If you want to use Microsoft Outlook with your Google Phone, then you should get this app.
One problem some users have with the Google Phone is its limited internal memory (only 50MB). That means it can only store a specified number of emails in its memory. Once it reaches its quota, it automatically deletes emails, in order to free up space.
As you can see, the Google Android can handle your email needs. There have been several bumps along the way with regards to the email app, but this has been addressed by the developers and everything is running smoothly at present.
